Meet the Team
Born and raised in Halifax, NS, Jonathan is thrilled to be taking on the role of Secretary-General for the 2019 MtAUN Conference and to contribute his vision as to how MtAUN can grow. He’s a fourth-year Double Major in International Relations and Modern Languages and spent his second academic year on exchange in Strasbourg, France. His passion for IR and languages can be seen outside of class with work experience as a tour guide at the Parliament of Canada and at a language camp in Québec through the federally-funded Explore Canada. This summer, he will be pursuing his passion for environmental advocacy and leadership as Mount Allison’s 2019 ECHO Foundation Intern. Having been lucky enough to travel to over 20 countries, Jonathan’s primary hobby is street photography, but he also enjoys playing the guitar, fencing, and sailing.
Meredith Kent is from the vibrant city of Halifax, NS where the donair sauce flows free. She is a second-year Political Science/Sociology double major who’s been lucky enough to participate in some of the largest High School and University level Model United Nations conferences nationwide. She is very excited to be the Chargées D’Affaires and Co-Chair of ECOSOC! As a MUNer herself she knows that the key to both communication and committees is efficiency and excitement! So be prepared for lightning fast email response times and placard picks! Some fun facts about her are that: She was the first Atlantic Canadian representative at Rotary’s Adventure in Human Rights & my favorite pieces of Netflix content are Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Grace & Frankie! You can usually find her in Black Duck cafe listening to Jorja Smith & cramming for a Midterm.
Director of Public Relations
From Dartmouth NS, Shamus is a second-year Physics student who has always had an interest in politics and international relations. Having participated in MtAUN 2018 as his first MUN experience, he quickly developed an interest for MUN that drove him to participate in conferences held in Montreal, become a Canadian MUN Ambassador, and to join the MtAUN secretariat as the USG Public Relations. Shamus is very excited to contribute to the upcoming conference and hopes to make it the best and largest one to date. When he’s not busy working on MtAUN, you can find him tucked into the library studying for an exam or procrastinating while watching Suits and playing video games.
Spencer Coy is a fourth-year Psychology major from the city of Portland, Oregon. He has always had an interest in the multicultural nature of MUN. Drawing from his experience in the MtAUN 2017 and as a director the General Assembly in the MtAUN 2018, Spencer is confident that he will provide an excellent experience in this years ECO-SOC committee with the rest of the amazing MtAUN crew. A major hobby of his is swing dancing and he likes to cook and bake, particular cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting. Favorite is orange and can usually find him in Flemington.
Co-Chair General Assembly
Sydney is currently a third-year International Relations student from Stratford, ON. She recently took an exchange to Strasbourg France, home to the European Parliament and Council of Europe. Having watched them in session, Sydney is UN debate ready! She will be this year’s general assembly co-chair and couldn’t be more excited to listen and learn from all of the delegates. During her first year, MtAUN was her very first model UN conference and she loved it, from the committees to the social events. Not only do you gain so many important personal skills, but your peers and the conference as a whole are a wealth of knowledge.
Natalia Liste Colomina
Under-Secretary-General Committees and Staff
Natalia is this year’s USG Committees and Staff. She is a fourth-year International Relations Honours and a double minor in sociology and women’s and gender studies student. Originally from Madrid, Spain but, she has been all over the globe which is how she encountered MUN and became passionate about debate. Fun fact this will be her eighth MUN conference and her second time in this position! On her free time, she can be either found studying at the student center, working, or having a cup of coffee with some friends at Black Duck.
Under-Secretary-General Information and Technology
Nimesh is a second-year Computer Science and Mathematics major from Nepal. He is very excited to be working as the USG Information and Technology for MtAUN this fall. Besides English, he speaks Nepali, Hindi, and Spanish. When he’s not updating the MtAUN website, you can find him watching Christopher Nolan's 'The Prestige' for the umpteenth time.
Born and raised in Calgary, Kelton is excited to be this year's Financial Officer for MtAUN. He is a fourth year Honours student in Commerce with a minor in Computer Science. This is his first time being involved with Model UN, so he can't wait to bring his financial experience to the table. He is passionate about learning and having new experiences. He likes to have a good laugh, so it's no surprise that he will never pass up an opportunity to attend a comedy show.

He is thrilled to be this year's USG Operations. Ian will have spent the summer of 2019 working at the governor general's residence in Quebec City and hopes to have improved his french in the process. In his spare time, Ian loves making music on violin and viola, traveling and learning new languages. Ian is looking forward to an exciting conference in his second year.
