Kaelan Ruddick, Secretary-General
Meet the Team
Kaelan is a fifth year Honours Psychology, French, and International Politics student who discovered Model UN in her second year at MtA. Since then she has participated in three conferences, and is very excited to be taking on the role of Secretary-General for the 2018 Mount Allison Model United Nations Conference. Kaelan loves Model UN conferences for the chance they provide to develop new skills as an individual while learning about and engaging in current global issues. During free time you’ll often catch her baking way too many cookies, settled in with a book and a cup of tea, or stargazing and planning adventures.
Hailing from Vancouver, BC, Matt Roberts is excited to be your Chief of Operations for this year’s conference. A fourth year International Relations major, Matt has an avid interest in global affairs, and the role that multilateral organizations such as the UN can play. He spent this past summer interning with the Organization of American States in Washington DC, working on international development projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. In his spare time, Matt enjoys playing soccer, and learning new languages. Besides English, he currently speaks French and German.
Kira is a fourth year International Relations major from Victoria, British Columbia. Coming from a family that encourages political engagement, Kira grew up passionate about politics and international policy. Kira has had many opportunities to travel, and has visited four out of seven continents, successfully developing her love of travel and foreign affairs. At home in Victoria, she can be found hiking and exploring the beautiful island, or curled up with a cup of tea and a good book. Kira found Model United Nations in her first year at Mount A and was pleased to discover the thrill of debate. She is looking forward to being involved in planning a great conference for a third year.
